GUESTBOOK

Sharing the weekend, track and pit lane was Pistonclub Germany (in fact we were guests of them) who had a 2-day track day. This was for anything, and the mix of machinery on track was great to watch and hear. There was a recent Indy car, a few historic F1 cars, a few Ferrari 360 Challenge cars, countless GT3's, a few smaller single seater cars, saloon racers, Radicals and a very very loud, very very quick Ferrari 575 GT car. Best noise had to go to the race prepped Corvette Stingray and its straight through exhaust.

This page shows some of the cars that were there. With no noise limits and a large track, there were some great cars to share the track with, and as usual the 7 type cars more than held their own!

Yep - that is a pretty recent Indy car from the US

This Tyrrell F1 car made a lot of noise in the pits, but unfortunately did not make it out on track. Would have been great to watch it on the track.

Proper slicks!

Radical SR3

GT3 - ah, sorry - VW Beetle!

There were a lot of GT3 and variants at the track - seriously quick and very very loud (this is an earlier pre-GT3 model)

Small single seater - not sure what it was.

On track.

Some people come prepared for all conditions! these wheels were for various Porsche  cars.

Some of my pit crew!! Sven (who had come down from Antwerp), Adil and Tessa on the pit wall.

Ferrari F1 car was a highlight, but like the Tyrrell I did not see it on the track. It could often be seen motoring around the paddock though!

One of the factory Donkervoorts, and behind it the Ferrari 575 GT car.

Ferrari 575 GT car was one of the loudest cars on track, and certainly looked one of the fastest. It came past me on the inside at Blanchimont as if I was stationary!

Checking tire temperatures before the next run.

I think the bonnet was more air than materials with all the cooling vents cut into it!

Something distracted Sven and Adil as I took this pic - Tessa is still looking at the camera!

The other loudest car on track at the weekend after the Ferrari - a much deeper noise from this racing Corvette Stingray with a straight through exhaust.

Penthouse Pet on this historic F1 car seems to have distracted them again - Adil looks particularly happy to see her!

Luckily we did not see this vehicle much - just the odd gravel excursion I think, mainly when it was damp.

But Spa does bite, as this GT3 shows.

Shot of Eau Rouge and the lower F1 paddock, which shows the sort of weather we had throughout the weekend, a mixture of cloud and sunshine - all in all we were very lucky with the weather - it could have rained all the time.
