'Angus&Tessa' -as many of you will know us from 'Blatchat'  Here we are with our 1.6k series '96 Supersport. You see, Tessa is a real person - not the car!

Within the Lotus 7 Club, of which we are proud members, we are known for our ridiculous mileage figures. Since we bought our car in July 2001 we have so far covered almost 70,000 miles! The average for a car of this type is said to be about 3000 miles per year. Our Caterham is our only car so it gets used for any journey we make. We were, until recently, also unusual in that the car was kept out on the street for 18 months in Balham, London. Ungaraged and exposed we never had any problems whatsoever. The car now resides in our first garage in Englefield Green, Surrey.

Tessa works as a teacher in a posh Battersea school. Teaching nursery age kids, from what I have seen from attending a few Parent Association dinners she is much appreciated and respected for the work she does at such an important stage of a child's development.

I am an Industrial Designer. "A what?!" I hear you say. Well, you can see examples of my work in my 'Design' section, but I am involved in conceptualizing, developing and often productionising products, from toys to Mega-Yacht bridges, mobile phones to garden furniture and automotive work. I am very lucky in that I get a huge variety of work, and enjoy what I do immensely.

We currently rent a small house in Englefield Green, having met 3 years ago in Balham London, where we both lived.

Balham, London      Where I first met Tessa. We both rented rooms in this house. The car lived outside on the street like this for the first 18 months of ownership, with no problems or damage. We met a surprising number of fellow 7 owners in the area, particularly at the Streatham based Saaarff London meet - the friendliest area meet you could wish for.

We bought our Caterham together 2 years ago. Since then we have met a huge number of people through the car, mainly through contact on Blatchat or at Lotus 7 Club events and Trackdays. We have travelled extensively in our car and where-ever we go it proves a great ice-breaker in meeting new people.

Its amazing how these cars take over your life - most of our best friends we have met through the car one way or another, most of the things we do are centered around the car, be it holidays in France, track days or just an evening blat, and here I am with my first ever website, based primarily around the car!

Avebury '03     What it's all about. A summers evening Blat from London to Wiltshire with a friend. 120 mile round trip for a pub lunch in the middle of an ancient Stone Circle!
